I think it is Robin Wong who coined the term, "Shutter Therapy." I took some yesterday by driving around the grasslands of eastern Colorado with my camera. It helped.
"Shutter Therapy" is great! I need to look him up. Thank you - and hope you're doing well, Richard! I have yet to really explore Eastern CO, but I've heard I'll love it!
The world is indeed worth fighting for, and so is my family, and yours, and our communities, and the land and water around us. Your art-making is the flame of your humanity, keep it going Jerred.
These photos are stunning. No color indeed, yet somehow the lack of color makes them all-the-more beautiful. I get it. Create all the beauty you can in the current ugly state of affairs in which we find our fragile democracy. These photos do just that. They are a perfect metaphor for feelings of colorless desperation and sadness made beautiful - they are hope.
Hi Jerred, your photos are amazing and clearly, I feel your struggle, since I experience the same. So many of us do. Please check in tomorrow to my Lens 2 Lens discussion tomorrow morning with another Substack writer. It's 100% relevant with your post and I think it will bring you some solace. :)

Oh, Jeanne. Thanks so much! Sadness made beautiful! I LOVE that. Thanks for the hopeful message!

Juliette! Thank you so much - you and I totally have some of the same sentiment! I'm off to read the Lens 2 Lens right now. I always appreciate you!
