Are you kidding? I would love to visit someday! Everything about it matches my shooting style these days. And these images were so beautiful!! I thoroughly enjoyed every single one. While it's hard to pick just one of my favorites, the cormorants in the trees took my breath away. I also found it interesting to see which camera you decided to use and when. And all the full frame shooters!! It must have felt good to walk around with a more nimble pack. Well done, Jerred!
Thanks, Juliette! That's great that you liked the cormorants!! I almost didn't take that shot... from my car, it was hard to see with the sun blaring, and I thought: "Do I need another silhouette shot of birds? The answer: YES! Always. Thanks for your kind words, Juliette. Hope you're well out there!
They cannot see. I love that. It is so true. I often stop when I am out taking pictures and force myself just to appreciate the scene without the camera in front of my face. Appreciate it and think about what it means to me, or what it might mean to someone else. Once I see with my heart, the result has more meaning. Thank you for sharing these breathtaking photos and thank you for advocating for the communities you photograph. And, I agree - that cow has a very cool haircut indeed!
Mo-Cow! She was great!!! And yes, its' so much fun to see other perspectives, isn't it? I'm meeting up with the photographers who went on this trip with me this morning, and I can't wait to see their photos! It's always so fun and interesting to see what other people noticed. I love hoe photography has helped me to not only "see" but "feel" the land more as well! Thanks, Jeanne!
Wow! I’m from San Francisco and that was an amazing set. It definitely opened my eyes about what’s in Nebraska photographically. I think there was a n Ansel Adams exhibit in Omaha a year ago and I wanted to go but couldn’t. When I travel I like to do a wandering style of trip. I pick a “magnet” location and head out in that direction not knowing exactly where I’ll stop. Thank you for your article!
Certainly not boring, beautiful images and must have been great to share the experience with like minded people. The landscape, towns and architecture is so completely different from anything we have here in the UK 💕
Thank you, Ashley! The experience was wonderful - everyone was joyful and excited for all the stops we made!! I'd love to visit the UK sometime - I say the same think with the videos I watch from YouTubers out your way!!! Thanks again.
Thank you for another inspiring article and beautiful photos. I'd love to read an article about your process for choosing places to drive out and photograph.
Hey, James! Thank you for the kind words! Honestly, I don't think it'd be much of an article. I usually find a destination (like Valentine, NE for this last trip), and then I just find weird back road ways to get there. So if I know Valentine is "North and West," I'll mostly just find small towns and back roads most of the way there without even using navigation till I get many hours into the trip. On the way I might find things I want to return to, so I mark them on my maps. A five hour trip for me mike take 10 though! Lol. And then that might inform my next photo trip - something I saw on the way, or a town I'd like to explore. Only then I'll take a totally different route there and find a whole bunch of new stuff. My Google Maps pins are kind of crazy!! Did this help? Let me know. Maybe an article is a good idea if you have other questions!

Exactly - a great way to travel. And I haven't been to San Francisco for a bit! Some day I'll get back that way!
Beautiful photos and an insightful article. Sorry I couldn't be there - darn wedding!
We talked about you and your cats!!!!!!

Thanks! I love that "lack of planning" approach. I think there is definitely an article there!
