I love your eye for photos. Of course I don’t know how many you toss and how many you keep, but what you post is always beautiful. (Even the creepy ones!)
I recently got the mood app. I like what it has to offer, however, I’ve found that the photos I take are often very soft or out of focus. If I take the same picture using the regular iPhone 17 pro camera it looks fine. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I think if you click on "quality" and lower it to 100 do "digi" the files will be a lot sharper. Personally, I let the ISO rip and I like the softer look - but I know it's not for everyone. Thanks for your kind words about my eye. Mostly, I just try to have one thing I think I want the viewer to look at, then adjust the composition, settings, where I stand and all that to try to support where I want people to look! Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't! I delete far less on my phone than on my real camera, which is weird now that I think about it. Thanks, as always!
I did not know about the “quality” setting - guess that I didn’t look carefully at all one can do with this app! There are times I like a softer look, but I was trying to get some flowers, and soft didn’t cut it with the ones I was trying to take a photo of. Your explanation of trying to photograph what you want the viewer to look at makes sense, however, I also think that some people just have a good eye. I’ve been taking photos for years and sometimes get something I really like. My wife never took photos when one had to use a “real camera,” but she takes out her phone and often takes shots that just have that “something” that a good eye can find. I see that in your photos as well.
Peter! Honestly, I haven't really dived into the Mood app very much either. I do know it's capable of some pretty good results because I've gotten some really well-defined, sharper photos on the random mode sometimes! Otherwise I just let things go. And I do think some people have a good eye too. I was a teacher for a long time and had thousands of students over the years, and some people just start taking wildly good photos from the first week, and some take a long time to get going! Your wife sounds like one of those who just "gets" it! Thanks, Peter. I'm in Chicago for a few days practicing my "vertical landscape" skills! It's a foreign land for me, and I hope I get some good stuff!!!
Tremendous photo spread and yes, this is one of the saddest displays I've seen in some time.
Malls were a huge part of my youth and I wish I could share them with my grandkids as I did with my boys.
