This makes me ponder on a new year's resolution... I told myself I'd "be more out there"... and post, even though mostly nobody would probably care. But then... I got caught up on this: won't anything I post... even to a private website... be "scraped" for AI? Is that what I want my photos to be? It's not like I think my stuff is so good and I don't want to lose it to AI... it's more, do I want my photos... maybe even family members... to be part of AI's generative options... It has kept me from getting started on a goal... but then I see you post, and maybe I am worrying too much?
Hey - honestly, I think you're worrying too much. We all go our own way - but man, let's share our work. I believe in our ability to tell stories, remain present in the world, and create things others will love. Our personal stories will be more important than ever!
The internet has alway been the place to find "experts" on any given subject who are eager to share their opinion or attack someone else. This seems like the perfect occasion to use our special phrase! And dance on down that highway!!! :-)
Important and sadly humorous read. Not certain what the final answer will be, but we have to keep on shooting. Our work becomes more unique by being non-AI. Congrats on the VI.
Great commentary on the state of our world, Jerred! Unfortunately, I don't see things changing for the better anytime soon. I had to laugh at your caption about the garden. YOU know what is real and, in the end, that's all that matters.
I think a lot of people think almost anything is AI and since it’s easy to say it is. At the same time I’ve seen pictures that are over edited and this look AI.
Good essay and photo journal. Ignore the bizarre and off the wall comment. Similar to bad drivers .... just keep going your way.
